OPRats always has rats in need of forever homes.
Visit our available rats page to see who is looking for a loving, forever home.
But first, please read BEFORE YOU ADOPT to see if rats are the right pet for you.
We have an adoption/foster application form that must be filled out, and an adoption agreement that must be signed. There is a home visit prior to adopting/fostering our rats. We will keep in touch with you about how things are going and help in any way we can. Rats are always adopted out in pairs or more, with the exception of senior rats or unsocialzed rats who have lived alone and are not accepting of new rat companions.
100% of adoption fees and donations goes towards providing care for our rats
Aged under 18 months: $10 per rat
Aged 18 months and over: $8 per rat
The adoption fee for rats over the age of 2 years is waived. All donations are appreciated.
Neutered/Spayed females may be available from time to time and adoption prices will be discussed case by case.
Do you think you’ve found your new best friend?
By filling out the application, we are better able to determine if the rats you are interested in will be a good fit for your household. During the adoption process you will also be given the opportunity to ask more specific questions to help make the adoption a success.
We understand that people of all ages love rats, but unfortunately we cannot enter into a legal contract with anyone under the age of 18. If you are younger than 18 we will need to communicate with your parents and they will need to sign our adoption contract.
We reserve the right to deny any adoption at any time. All rats are adopted out as pets only. Any applications for rats desired as feeders or breeder rats will be denied. If you do not currently have rats of your own, rats will be adopted out in same sex pairs (with the exception of neutered or spayed rats).
Upon signing our Adoption Agreement, the adopter(s) will also be provided with a copy of the OPRats Adoption Provisions
