Sweet ladies Nessie and Stella were accidentally bred when they themselves were still babies. Combined, they were the mothers to 28 rats! And while most of their babies have found homes, these two bonded moms are still looking for a forever home of their own.
We estimate they were born same time in fall of 2025, but don’t let their age fool you, these girls are extremely active, curious and and full of beans. Here’s a few words from their foster family:
“They are both such adventurous little girls! When they are out free roaming, they are both just non-stop. They get little zoomies and race around the couch together, and they love coming out with us for dinner time.
We always put some veggies and other little things on our plates for them, and they’re more then happy to grab food from our plates and sit with us to eat. They’re both very food motivated, so it can get a little chaotic. Any time you walk by the cage, they act like they haven’t been fed in days!
Nessie is definitely the dominant one and she’ll power groom Stella. They’re really cute together though and love curling up and sleeping together. Most evenings, they’ll sleep together on one of the shelves while we watch TV.
Stella is definitely calmer then Nessie, but she’s also more adventurous and wants to be out running around. She is always the first one out of the cage and the last one back in. She’ll usually follow Nessie’s lead at first with new things, but once she gets comfortable, she’ll go off and explore way more then Nessie does.
They’re both doing really well and we love having them here. They’re such fun little girls!”
