Bridgette (black) a little bit crazy. She has no interest at all in being held or cuddled. She is doing much more important things like exploring and finding out if she climb the broomstick. Eve (agouti) was a very young mother who gave birth to an unknown number of babies. She takes a little bit of patience to win her trust, but once you have it, she’ll climb into your hand any chance she gets.
These girls are currently being fostered in Ottawa.
Elsa and Hermione are opposites who are never far from each other. While Elsa is brave and playful, Hermione is still quite nervous about hands and tends to dash away and hide. These girls are most often cuddling with each other and so much go to their loving home together.
They are currently being fostered in Ottawa
Polaris & Comet are two adventurous baby brothers looking for a loving home together. Both boys rush to the door of the cage when you walk by and can’t wait to come out to play. They are part of a group of 21 rats rescued on Christmas Eve. They can be adopted with any of the other “McLaren Boys”.
Comet takes a little bit longer to work up the courage to run around and explore, but once he does, he’s a hoot!

Both boys were rescued by a kind lady in Kingston right before they were to become snake food. Stanley is much larger and very outgoing where as Brando is smaller and takes a little longer to warm up to you. Both boys are oh so sweet and really bask in any attention they get.
Please do not let the fact that these boys are albino put you off. Fur-colour and eye-color are not an indication of temperament or personality. Just like other rats, these brothers are looking for a loving home of their own.
They are the perfect pair, but also perfect opposites. While Squiggles can never get enough of out-time, and never gets tired of running all over her human, Guideon just likes to be lounge and be handed treats. They are very much bonded to each other and are looking for a loving home as a pair.
Ruby and Bee were surrendered by someone who had two accidental litters, resulting in many unwanted rats. These adorable 5 month old girls are both well socialized and very happy, loving attention and out time with their human friends. The love running around and exploring. Ruby, the smallest girl, is the most outgoing, and Bee needs a little time to get used to new people. After a couple of days, she is just as friendly and outgoing. Would you like to welcome these two cuties into your life?

Quinn was previously a huge bully. He hated all other rats with a passion and even viciously attacked his cagemate. Thankfully, he was surrendered to the Ottawa Pet Rat Rescue. After a neuter, lots of love, and tons of patience, Quinn has now found his perfect home: right between a pair of lovely ladies. This sweet boy is certainly living life to the fullest!

These two lucky boys were originally part of the Notorious Nine. They were the first lucky pair to be adopted by their doting mom. Now, they live a life of luxury in a huge ferret cage, with tons of toys, tunnels and hammocks, eating natural foods and healthy treats every single day.
Nezbit and Norbit with their new brother Shadow Bear.

Nelly was one of the 4 French girls originally rescued from a Montreal pet store where they were about to become used as feeders. After living a full life with a gaggle of other girls in a Princess-themed Critter Nation, Nelly is now a grouchy, but content old lady, getting spoiled and taking up all of her human mom’s attention.
Meet Mr. Moo, Maggie and Molly, three of the most adorable and friendly rats you will ever meet. Poor Mr. Moo was found trying to survive outside. He was infested by a huge bot fly larva, then later had to recover from a massive abscess in his side and groin. Just when we thought he had found his perfect home, the hormones kicked in, and Mr. Moo had to be separated while he waited for a neuter. Now much calmer, Mr. Moo lives with two of the Blonde sisters, Maggie and Molly who were surrendered at exactly 2 weeks of age. A happy “harem” as we like to call it!
Now named Mistrale and Stella, this gorgeous mother-daughter pair have found their forever home. While other people over-looked this beautiful pair for months, their new human mom and dad could see how sweet and loving these girls could be. Thank you!
Mina is the black Rex, who also happens to be a brave adventurer able to climb just about anything! Lil’ Momma loves to give kisses, and as her name suggests, is the mother of the Blondie Babies. Both girls captured the heart of their foster mom, and never left!
Franklin was a rescue from a Kjiji Ottawa ad. The photo that was provided by his previous ‘owner’ showed a tiny hamster cage with a sickly looking rat curled up inside. We knew we had to go and get him. Now he lives in a big cage with other boy ratty friends, and life is great! Louie was surrendered by his previous owners after they decided they had no more time to care for him. His back and sides were solid with scabs and clumps of his fur were missing everywhere from the worst mite infestation we had ever seen. Gamer was surrendered as a “defective” rat. His previous owner intended for him to impregnate a female so that he could use the babies as live snake food. Fortunately (or unfortunately), his previous owner didn’t seem to know the difference between males and females, because he never noticed that the “girl” was also a boy.

Meet Lia & Sandrine who have moved from Ottawa to a beautiful house with a lovely couple in Val-Des-Monts Quebec. With their decked out double Critter Nation and chicken sisters, these two girls are being spoiled and cherished. They spend evenings running around and settling in to cuddle on the couch with their human mom and dad. A sweet and relaxing life!

Juniper (black) & Willow are looking for a forever home together!
These two girls are members of the group of rats and babies we took in from the SPCA. They are originally from a pet store that dumped 66 rats (including some pregnant adults) on the SPCA – who is simply not equipped to handle that many rats. We stepped in, taking 29 of the rats – including these two loves.
They are available for adoption as a pair or along with their current roommates, Maple & Ash.

These three boys are from the the two resulting litters from the Mascouche Breeder. They’ve just reached six weeks old as of Sept 14, and are now ready to find forever homes. They have lived their entire lives at the rescue and are therefore extremely well socialized and friendly. Alvin, who always stands out, is the handsome tan boy, Simon is the adorable black boy with dumbo ears, and Theodore is black with standard ears. The three of them enjoy getting up to antics just like their namesakes.
They have a loving home with two big brothers to play and learn from!

Maple is a gorgeous agouti Berkshire and Ash is black, with a perfectly heart-shaped white spot on her chest.
