Blitzen & Dancer

Blitzen and Dancer are two adventurous and brave baby brothers looking for a loving home together. Both boys rush to the door of the cage when you walk by and can't wait to come out to play. They are part of a group of 21 rats rescued on Christmas Eve. They can be adopted with any of the other "McLaren Boys". These boys are currently being fostered in Ottawa.

Quinn

Quinn was previously a huge bully. He hated all other rats with a passion and even viciously attacked his cagemate. Thankfully, he was surrendered to the Ottawa Pet Rat Rescue. After a neuter, lots of love, and tons of patience, Quinn has now found his perfect home: right between a pair of lovely ladies. This sweet boy is certainly living life to the fullest!

Nelly

Nelly was one of the 4 French girls originally rescued from a Montreal pet store where they were about to become used as feeders. After living a full life with a gaggle of other girls in a Princess-themed Critter Nation, Nelly is now a grouchy, but content old lady, getting spoiled and taking up all of her human mom's attention.

Molly, Maggie & Mr. Moo

Meet Mr. Moo, Maggie and Molly, three of the most adorable and friendly rats you will ever meet. Poor Mr. Moo was found trying to survive outside. He was infested by a huge bot fly larva, then later had to recover from a massive abscess in his side and groin. Just when we thought he had found his perfect home, the hormones kicked in, and Mr. Moo had to be separated while he waited for a neuter. Now much calmer, Mr. Moo lives with two of the Blonde sisters, Maggie and Molly who were surrendered a...

Louie, Franklin & Gamer

Franklin was a rescue from a Kjiji Ottawa ad. The photo that was provided by his previous 'owner' showed a tiny hamster cage with a sickly looking rat curled up inside. We knew we had to go and get him. Now he lives in a big cage with other boy ratty friends, and life is great! Louie was surrendered by his previous owners after they decided they had no more time to care for him. His back and sides were solid with scabs and clumps of his fur were missing everywhere from the worst mite infestation...

Elly & Ingrid

It can be said that Elly (left) & Ingrid were a pair made in rattie heaven. Both of these older girls had lost their previous cage-mates and were lonely. They accepted each other almost immediately and now live in a spacial Critter Nation together. Their mom is a loving parent who not only dotes on them, but will go the extra mile to make sure her girls are healthy and happy. Elly was definitely one of the lucky ones - she lived to a ripe old age of 3.5 years!

Roo & Roger

One-eyed Roo and her sweet, but slightly timid friend Roger make for quite the odd, but adorable couple. These two rats were both surrendered as part of a group, but due to various behavioral issues, had to be separated from their former cage-mates. After both underwent surgery and a recovery period, they were matched to each other precisely because of their slightly strange behaviors. As luck would have it, they clicked almost immediately. Roo and Roger will now live out the rest of their lives...

Riot & Rebel

Riot & Rebel had an extremely hard start to life. These boys were banished to a boarding facility at the back of a veterinary clinic for a few weeks where they were surrounded by the sounds of panicked dogs and cats. When they were first rescued, Riot was a biter. He bit every foster parent who ever gave him a chance. Meanwhile, Rebel was so terrified he would defecate on the spot and refuse to move for hours on end. It was only by sheer luck and maybe a touch of fate that Terri found us and inq...

May

Little May was named after the month she was found. Believe it or not, she was found in a small cardboard box in a Tim Horton's parking lot. An employee at Tim Horton's went out for a break, and noticed the box sitting out back. We're so glad she looked inside! May now lives with other ratty friends and still has a bit of a wild girl attitude.
