Update March 2021: Unfortunately, both Wraith and Purple had to be euthanized by our veterinarian due to persistent and worsening respiratory disease, leaving Grey the sole survivor from this group. Gordon

Sweet and independant Gordon has the honor of being the oldest rat currently living at the Rescue. He was surrendered along with 10 other rats at the age of 1-1.5 years old in 2019, and has never been able to get completely healthy. Kepler & Leo

Brothers Kepler and Leo have been through a lot and they have the physical scars to prove it. These boys are an estimated 1 to 1.5 years old. Both Kepler and Leo are missing fingers and toes. On July 25th, 2014, OPRATs was contacted about 22 rats at risk of being killed by a breeder in Mascouche, near Montreal, who had been reported by local authorities and was being ordered to stop all breeding. We had until July 27th to get those rats out, otherwise, they would be used as feeders. Now, with most of them safely in Ottawa, we have found out that the majority of the females are in fact, pregnant.
